Statement
Golden Grave is an introspective analysis of the artist's own upbringing, as well as a broader inquiry into the nature of familial relationships, the essence of kinship, and their profound impact on one’s life. Under the guise of love, how do we confront those unspoken wounds? Amid the tension between familial constraints and the pursuit of freedom, how is the self shaped?
The work employs curatorial thinking, disrupting linear narratives through a deliberate arrangement of photographic archives, documentary photography, and short films within a white space, physically blurring the boundaries between past and present. The artist transforms intense emotions into a calm yet powerfully striking visual language, using both imagery and text to express a denunciation and commemoration of past traumas.
